Canadian Robotics Playing Critical Role in ISS Repair Mission

On Saturday, November 3, 2007, NASA astronaut Scott Parazynski anchored at the end of the Shuttle's Canadian-built boom extension and attached to the Canadarm2 repaired a damaged solar array on the far left side of the Space Station's lab complex. This was the first time Canadarm2 has been used together with the Shuttle's boom extension arm to conduct a repair and operation task aboard the Station.

This international team effort helped secure the solar panel and ensure the success of Mission STS-120. One more clear demonstration that Canada's robotics contribution and our expertise are absolutely vital to the international partnership that is building and using the world's largest microgravity scientific laboratory ever conceived.
